REMOTE CON-TROL
TV clips, quips cut especially for the Con

TELEVISION CRITIC

July 26, 2008

What: Panel discussion for CBS comedy “The Big Bang Theory”

Goodie bag: A greatest-hits clip reel created for Comic-Con.

Star watch: Moderator Adam Savage (“Mythbusters”); cast members Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar.

Scoop du jour: Galecki's former “Roseanne” co-star Sara Gilbert will be back as a fellow brainiac. The show's equations are approved by a UCLA physics professor.

Geek cred: Kunal plays a killer game of badminton, Cuoco plays an awesome game of Ping-Pong, Galecki is a huge Elfquest fan, and Parsons likes to go to bed really early.

Con-sequitur: “The nerdiest thing about me? You can't tell by looking at me?” – Simon Helberg, who is cuter than he thinks.

Random act of con-ness: Parsons wows the crowd with his vivid explanation of the Doppler effect.

What: Panel for the CW network's “Spectacular Spider-Man” animated series.

Goodie bag: A “quip” reel created for Comic-Con.

The daily shout-out: “I want to thank everybody who didn't go to the 'Watchmen' panel.” – producer Greg Weisman.

Con-sequitur: “You can show up in your pajamas and the food is great.” – Robert “Freddy Krueger” Englund explains why he loves doing cartoon voices.

What: Entertainment Weekly's Showrunners Panel

Star watch: TV producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof (“Lost”), Josh Schwartz (“Chuck”), Bryan Fuller (“Pushing Daisies”) and Josh Friedman (“Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”).

Scoop du jour: The new season of “Terminator” starts two seconds after the first season left off. Claire will materialize again on “Lost.” And “Pushing Daisies” is adding a pig to the cast.

Con-sequitur: “I feel like a Pip.” – “Terminator” boss Friedman can't help noticing that all of the audience questions are for team “Lost.”
