WHAT'S IN YOUR BAG?
Assorted booty, snacks and ... tons of bags

July 26, 2008

NELVIN C. CEPEDA / Union-Tribune
Allison Truong from Salt Lake City nabbed the must-have accessory of the day – a black “Watchmen” bag.
Allison Truong's black “Watchmen” bag is almost as big as she is. But it's the Friday accessory to have, so inside of it is – of course – more “Watchmen” bags.

The bag obsession doesn't stop there. The Salt Lake City engineer has tons of bags inside her bags, including lots of canvas ones from Viz Media and the Prada purse that holds her money.

“We're not going to talk about budgets,” she said. “Budgets are more like a suggestion that I usually blow right past.”

Truong, 25, used to live in East County, and she's been going to the Con since she was 16. So, she knows well enough to fill one of her bags with snacks, like sugary pastries and iced tea.

She's also carrying tons of freebies, including a “Lost Boys” T-shirt and a “Zero G” comic book.

“You gotta have a comic,” she said. “I love comics. This is my mecca.”

But that one item that Truong loves most is a limited-edition plush pink Skelanimal bunny. That did not get put in the bag. Instead, it stayed in her arms for the rest of the afternoon.
