The Clarence Page column published yesterday, “To the rescue of the party of Lincoln,” said that the Chicago Tribune was founded in 1847 by Joseph Medill. In fact, Medill and partner Charles Ray purchased the newspaper in 1855. In addition, the column said Sen. Robert Byrd represents Virginia. In fact, he represents West Virginia.
