Flag retirement ceremony: The Kiwanis Club of San Marcos and Cub Scout Pack 662 will host a flag retirement ceremony at 6:30 p.m. today at Walnut Grove Park, 1950 Sycamore Drive, San Marcos. Rods and woodies: On the third Thursday of each month through September, the streets of downtown Encinitas will feature Rods & Woodies on 101 Cruise Night. This month's event, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, will feature the Over the Hill Gang car club and music by The Surf Kings. (760) 943-1950.

Golf classic: The Church of St. Thomas More's seventh annual golf event will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lake San Marcos Country Club, 1750 San Pablo Drive. Shotgun start is at 1 p.m. Cost: $110, includes lunch, dinner, golf and cart. (760) 945-9935.

Blood drive: The San Diego Blood Bank bloodmobile will be accepting blood donations from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 12672 Poway Road, Poway. Harvest fair: The Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum will host the 30th annual fair Saturday and Sunday and June 24-25.
