An enthusiastic group of troops surrounded Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers at Camp Pendleton yesterday. Rivers, who signed autographs, and his teammates practiced at Camp Pendleton for the benefit of Marines and sailors and their family members. The players received all the attention but they expressed their admiration for the military, too. “Ours is the easy job,” defensive end Luis Castillo said. One Marine gave Castillo a necklace with the USMC insignia. Castillo beamed, nearly speechless.
