Melissa Etheridge's partner, Tammy Lynn Michaels, is pregnant with twins, the couple has announced on the singer's Web site.
“We are thrilled to announce that Tammy is pregnant, and expecting our twins sometime around this fall,” they said in a statement. “To answer the obvious question: we used an anonymous donor from a (sperm) bank.”
Etheridge, 44, and Michaels, 31, held a commitment ceremony in 2003. The singer has two children from her relationship with former partner Julie Cypher: daughter Bailey Jean and son Beckett. Cypher had the children through artificial insemination using a sperm donation from rock legend David Crosby.
In the announcement, posted Monday, Etheridge and Michaels said: “The twins will be a joyful addition to our loving home. We are a blessed family.”
Etheridge last released a greatest hits album titled, “The Road Less Traveled.”
Michaels starred on the 2005 NBC comedy “Committed” and has appeared on Showtime's “The L Word.”

DIRECTOR PLEADS GUILTY
A somber “Die Hard” director John McTiernan stood before a federal judge in Los Angeles and said he made “knowingly false” statements to an FBI agent about Anthony Pellicano, the celebrity private eye he admitted hiring to wiretap a business associate.
McTiernan, who pleaded guilty Monday to making false statements, faces up to five years in prison when he is sentenced July 31.
He is the highest-profile figure yet to plead guilty in the investigation of Pellicano, who is accused of bugging phones and bribing police to get information on celebrities and others. Pellicano has pleaded not guilty.
MOLESTATION CASE DISMISSED
A federal judge In New Orleans has thrown out a lawsuit filed against Michael Jackson by a man who claimed that the pop star molested him more than 20 years ago.
The alleged victim claimed he repressed the memory of the assault until 2003.
U.S. District Judge Eldon Fallon dismissed the suit brought by Joseph Bartucci Jr., who claimed he was lured into Jackson's limousine during the 1984 World's Fair in New Orleans and held for nine days, during which he was sexually and physically assaulted. The lawsuit sought unspecified damages.
