CRIME WATCH
Man kidnaps woman, takes SUV, cash

April 13, 2006

MISSION VALLEY – A man kidnapped a woman, drove her to the College Area and stole her sport utility vehicle yesterday, police said.

The 59-year-old woman was not injured. She called San Diego police from Montezuma Road about 6:40 p.m.

She told officers a man forced his way into the driver's seat of her SUV on Camino del Rio North, near Westfield Shoppingtown Mission Valley. He shoved her to the passenger seat and drove to Montezuma Road near El Cajon Boulevard.

The man took her bank ATM card, cell phone and about $200 in cash before telling her to get out of the vehicle. The man, who appeared to be in his 20s, then drove away in the black 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, police Sgt. Rich Nemetz said.
